Open Letter to Media Re: Donald Trump

It is time to stop chumming the waters for the predatory activities of a single person who lives for the limelight. The attention this celebrity is receiving merely serves to shift the focus of both the American public and elected officials from the many real problems our nation faces to trivial issues.

If Trump cares about this country and its people, he would let the politicians move forward in their day-to-day work. There's already enough political grandstanding and partisanship to go around. His actions and rhetoric suggest to me that this man cares only for one thing, and that is himself.

The time to learn more about a politician is when that person is a candidate for office. All of this grandstanding and "investigation" once a person has been elected serves no real purpose, except for the person or forces that wish to disrupt the true national agenda for their own.

Shame on you for playing right into Trump's hand. Me, and much of the American public have had enough. Move on.

  2. I agree with you 100%. This fiasco makes Donald Trump and the media who pay attention to this look like idiots, imo.

  3. @D: My point is that the president and congress and many other elected officials have concerns of national importance that should be their focus. Thanks for your input.

@residentgamer: So much time and energy that could be put to good use are being wasted. Thanks for your feedback.

  4. I agree, Trump is misdirecting people's energy and time. I'm turning the channel and not reading about him. I want answers to how we are going to change the debt situation, the war situation, the unemployment..

  5. @KBalbify: Other than headlines and the occasional "news" article I happen across, I am not wasting my energy on this nonsense either. I'm just sad to see that so many people on all levels are caught up in this maelstrom. Thanks for your feedback.

  6. It seems the media's only job nowadays is to sensationalize everything. You just can't count of them for solid, accurate, and reliable information any more.

  7. @Tracey: I get most of my news from the BBC. They report the facts and move on, the way news reporting used to be.

I don't know if you or anyone else is interested, but here is an article I wrote a few months ago about the state of the media: http://hubpages.com/hub/Yellow-Journalism-is-Alive-and-Well

  8. Too late now, but if the Republicans had allowed the President to do what he tried to in the first place, the USA might be in a better situation right now.

Instead they have done everything in their power to try and undermine him, blaming the mess on him, not his predecessor, who was of course - surprise surprise - a Republican!

  9. @Tony Payne: I agree with you, and the partisanship seems to have escalated with the newest batch of elected officials. Thanks for stopping by.
