H Is for Helpful

I've already mentioned the importance of not burning bridges, but this post takes things one step further. Be helpful to one another. Lyn Lomasi is the first person who comes to my mind when I think of how being helpful to others builds bridges.

Lyn is generous and selfless when it comes to sharing what she knows. Because of this personality attribute of being helpful, Lyn has garnered a wide range of friends and goodwill. She has a positive reputation among her peers and is the go-to person when anyone has a question or concern.

I don't have the knowledge base that Lyn does, but if I ever have the opportunity to help someone else, I will do so happily. I know I am thankful for the people who have helped me along the way--and sometimes that help has been considerable.

Building bridges, better known as networking in the business world, is an important tool in any business venture, but particularly so for work-from-home people. It's easy to feel isolated and hopeless when you hit a snag and there seems to be no place to turn for answers.

As a whole, I've found the world of freelance writers to be a helpful place and I want to be a brick in that wall.
